Throughout our lives, we encounter individuals who significantly influence our identity. You had no idea when you met them for the first time how much magic they would bring into your life. Meeting my dear sewing teacher, Neam Appasa, was the highlight of my 2024.

A mutual friend provided me with her contact information and I found myself ringing her doorbell. Not to mention that she never taught or tutored any students in this field at her home. I met her and told her who I am and how much this means to me, and she agreed to teach me the principles of professional sewing. She didn't just open her home to me; she opened her heart to me. We effortlessly bonded, and our hearts naturally connected. Her class was the best part of my day during the summer, making me feel calm and happy for two hours. I would feel like I was fleeing from my hectic life to her and unwind.
I was actually learning, and we had a very productive two hours every class. However, are you aware of the sensation of conversing and spending time with someone who makes you feel as though you are having the most luxurious and tranquil experience? For me, that was it. She was God's gift to me, and I will remember her every day of my life. After she moved away in November, I tried to keep up the pace and make the most of the two hours she spent with me in my room, sipping on the delicious coffee she used to make for me. I would be lying if I said the coffee was not one of the main reasons I was excited all day.
See the impact she had on me, and how my life and career improved simply because of how she treated and taught me. This is such an inspiration to me. I would also like to leave an impression on people like this who I meet in life. I would consider myself extremely fortunate if someone thought of me in this way and remembered me fondly. This is one of my life goals, and it is far more valuable than any material possession, social standing, or money. She helped me become a better version of myself; what else can I ask from the world?
Thank you for reading this!
